Bring It Home Baltimore (Day 1) HUD & BCHA Hosted by Charm City Cannabis Connoisseurs (MD) April 2 2018
Did you know?! Registered, legal MMJ patients who receive government housing assistance can still be evicted for the possession or use of cannabis despite of their patient status?! This is also the case for adult cannabis users in states with legalized adult use. With over 18,000 registered patients in Maryland and over 2.25 million in the entire nation this puts thousands of families at risk of homelessness. Is that the definition medical or personal freedom?!
29 states plus The District of Columbia and Puerto Rico have legalized cannabis on some level but so many gray areas still exist, so many patients are being discriminated against and as long as The Federal Government classifies Cannabis as a Schedule One Substance, adults nationwide on housing assistance are at risk. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE!!
On the Bring It Home campaign’s inaugural day of action, we will be having a demonstration at the Baltimore City Housing Authority located at 417 E. Fayette Street in Downtown Baltimore beginning at 2pm to stand in solidarity with activist groups across the nation for a National day of demonstration!
Gust speakers will be on hand to address the crowd and empower the community beginning at 3pm (speakers to be announced)
Bring your signs, your voices, your passionate and peaceful spirits and have your voices heard!
Do you have a unique story to tell that involves being refused housing as a result of your patient status? Contact CharmCityCanna@gmail.com
It is absolutely FREE to attend the demonstration but please RSVP through the ticket link so that we can properly prepared for attendees.
