Bring It Home (DAY 1) HUD & DCHA Hosted by DCMJ (DC) April 2 2018
Adults receiving government assistance for their housing can be evicted from their homes for the possession, use, and cultivation of cannabis. Although 29 states and the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico have legalized some form of cannabis, as long as the federal government classifies cannabis as Schedule One substance, adults cannot use, possess, or grow cannabis if they receive any government assistance. This needs to change!
On the Bring It Home campaign’s inaugural day of action, we will be having *TWO* demonstrations to highlight this injustice and call for change.
At HIGH NOON we will gather outside the Department of Housing and Urban Development located at 451 7th St SW, Washington, DC for a ONE hour lunchtime demonstration.
At 4:00pm we will gather outside the DC Housing Authority at 1133 North Capitol St NE building for an evening demonstration until 6:00PM.
