Tea Pad with Corey Barnette Hosted by Tea Pad Baltimore (DC) December 17 2019
Tea Pad is coming to DC! We’re very excited to hold our next event in this great American city that has been a leader in cannabis prohibition reform since it legalized recreational use in 2014. This time we’ll be gathering in Coffee Culture Too, a diverse coffee house, art gallery, and performance venue in the Queen’s Chapel neighborhood with the Tea Pad signature of live jazz, cocktails, and valuable networking.
Our keynote speaker is Corey Barnette, owner of two cannabis dispensaries in the DC area, and one of the only 1% of black cannabis licensed cannabis owners in the United States. Corey is a graduate of Duke University’s highly esteemed Fuqua School of Business where he earned his MBA in business, and previously worked in investment banking and venture funds before becoming a cannabis entrepreneur. Corey will provide his valuable insights on what it’s like being a person of color in the legal cannabis industry, how to tackle the challenges that may hinder future diversity, and how he’s overcome those challenges.
