Weed the People at Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse by VA NORML (VA) February 7 2019
Join Virginia NORML for a screening of the celebrated documentary about families who use medical cannabis to survive, “Weed the People.”
Prior to the screening at 7pm will be a medical cannabis information session, where guests will learn about the new legislation in Virginia, and new potential marijuana laws being voted on at the 2019 General Assembly.
“Weed the People” is filmmakers Abby Epstein and Ricki Lake’s unflinching look at the underground world of herbal medicine, where patients become experts on their own conditions and spend thousands of dollars on federally illegal medicines that are concocted in suburban kitchens. Nowhere is this phenomenon more compelling than in the treatment of children, whose parents will stop at nothing to help them.
“Weed the People” reveals the legitimate science behind cannabis medicine and the compelling stories of ordinary people whose lives are inescapably caught up in the controversy.

All proceeds go to benefit Virginia NORML, the organization doing the work to get marijuana laws changed in the Commonwealth.
“The legalization of drugs is not a dangerous experiment – the prohibition is the experiment, and it has failed dramatically, with millions of victims all around the world.”
