It looks like Bill B21-0120 Medical Marijuana Reciprocity Amendment Act of 2015 is now Under Council Review and should pass. This will allow medical patients from out of state to use their current states card. It also sounds like DC Dr’s will be allowed to write recommendations for out of state qualifying patients as well. This might help locals living in MD, DE, and VA.
As introduced, this bill provides access to medical marijuana in the District of Columbia to those patients from jurisdictions with medical marijuana laws. The patients must be undergoing a qualifying medical treatment or a possess a valid medical marijuana card from that jurisdiction. It also eliminates the limitation on the number of marijuana plants permitted to be grown at cultivation centers.
